Carlie's Story
Coach Carlie Olivas grew up in Oxford and graduated from Oxford High School in 2012. In 2012, Carlie began her collegiate career at Southern Union State CC where she recorded a 55-10 record with 55 complete games. Carlie tallied 428 career strikeouts in two seasons, allowing a 0.99 WHIP in two years, helping lead her team to the Alabama Junior College State Championship in 2014.
Carlie was named a National Junior College Athletic Association All-American, as well as the NJCAA Region 22 Tournament MVP. Southern Union finished fourth at the NJCAA National Tournament in 2014.
From SUSCC, Carlie continued her collegiate career at Mississippi College (D2, Gulf South Conference). In 2016, Carlie helped lead her team to an NCCAA National Championship, where she was named the NCCAA tournament MVP and was given the Game Plan 4 Life Character Award - an award given by the National Christian Conference for demonstration of love, integrity, faith, and leadership on and off the softball field.
Carlie’s career stats at Mississippi College for the 2015 and 2016 seasons include a 39-24 record, 344 strikeouts, 1.94 ERA, and a 0.61 WHIP. Carlie is ranked #3 for all-time strikeouts and #2 for 6.23 strikeouts per 7 innings in Mississippi College Softball History. Additionally, Carlie pitched Mississippi College’s first perfect game in school history against the nationally ranked University of Alabama at Huntsville in 2016.
Now, Carlie is a proud wife to Elliot and mother to her beautiful baby girl Ella. In her free time, Carlie enjoys spending time with her family, serving her church, and creating pottery.
