Lessons
Our lessons are offered to players of all ages. We offer a range of lessons that include pitching, hitting, catching, defense, and speed & agility. Each lesson has an option for a time frame of either 30 mins or 60 mins. We also offer classes and group sessions if that is a better fit for your budget. Please carefully select below which lesson type you are wanting to attend and how long you want to attend. Select the class/group if available.
All new clients are required to sign a liability form prior to the lesson. All clients under 18 years old must have forms completed by a guardian. Forms will be available at the GRIT facility. (If you wish to print it off and bring it to the facility, download it here.)
We are currently maxed out with lessons but still want the opportunity to work with your player in the future. Please follow the link below to join our waiting list. We will reach out to you to let you know what number your player is on the list and how long to expect to be on that list. Thank you so much!
Hitting
Hitting at GRIT is very simple. How can we put ourselves in the best position to (1) hit the ball hard, but also (2) hit the ball hard, no matter the location and speed. Our job is to find the most athletic stance, swing, and approach that fits your hitter the best.
Pitching
When taking a pitching lesson at GRIT, you should expect to learn explosive movements, spin, and correct up-to-date pitching mechanics that help avoid injury. Our instructors really push for our pitchers to learn body control and how to "feel" their pitches in their body sequence.
Catching
Catching lessons at GRIT are very high pace lessons. The catchers will learn their role physically and how to lead more efficiently. They will be taught how to receive, block, transfer for throw-downs, communicate, and so much more!
Speed & Agility
Speed and Agility at GRIT will take your kid to the next level. You can expect your kid to be pushed!! We will do speed work, ladders, explosive movement, endurance training, and recovery. We must take care of our bodies just as much as we train them.
Defense
Defensive lessons focus on foundational movements needed to field and catch a ball correctly. These movements include: fielding grounders, catching fly balls, increasing range (forehand and backhand), and making good throws.
INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
Individual lessons are more suited for beginner athletes that are needing to build a foundation. This type of lesson is also a great opportunity for an athlete needing to "talk through" their mechanics and really "feel" an adjustment. We often recommend 30 min individual lessons for 10u and younger. 60 min Individual for 16u and older. In these lessons, we take our time demonstrating and executing drills that support the movement that is being taught. Reminder, lessons are usually more talking than swinging as we are TEACHING; their homework will be getting repetition in what they LEARN. We give them the recipe, they make the meal.
GROUP LESSONS
Group lessons are highly recommended for an athlete that has already gone through 4 weeks of individual lessons. This is not only more time to learn but also to compete with the group. You can learn so much from other players but it also gives that extra push to get more effort. Group (4) settings are geared more towards 12u and older. Pair (2) is for any age group.
